MINSK, Aug 11 (PRIME) -- Belarus transshipped around 2 million tonnes of different cargoes in January–June, local newswire SB.Belarus Segodnya reported on Thursday quoting Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.
“Last year we transported zero point something of our cargoes through the Russian ports, but this year we provided different additional cargoes amounting to around 2 million tonnes in the first six months of the year,” he said, as quoted by the newswire.
Construction of a Belarusian port in Russia’s Northwest will be launched until the end of 2022. The exact location will be disclosed after the countries close the deal, he said.
“Speaking of two or three additional locations, the President (of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko) ordered us to carry out an additional analysis of economic parameters and to adjust the cost of investment,” Golovchenko said.
